Fashion for all Ages
By Sydney Reiman
I hear this all the time… “I can’t wear that, I’m too old,” Or “I would look like a grandma if I wore this!” These statements are so discouraging and what I encourage is to keep an open mind to all styles, trends, and prints. I personally don’t think there is an age limit on being trendy. Fashion is so incredibly versatile these days and anyone should feel inspired to enhance their wardrobe with pieces they’ve been hesitant to before. There’s no better way to express individuality than by dressing the part! So here’s my attempt to convince you all that “fashion” is for all ages and you can change the whole look of an outfit with accessories, different styling, or changing an accent color.
Let’s start saying, “how can I make this trend unique to my style?” instead of just throwing it down because you feel like it’s too old or young for you. There are plenty of spring trends approaching their post-runway debut that can be worked into everyone’s style; take for example, Tropical Prints.
Here are some common interpretations of clothing adorned with tropical prints; grandma on the golf course, grandpa’s BBQ shirt, vacation in the Hamptons. My opinion: there are plenty of young, trendy, and fashionable examples of this bold Hawaiian floral to go around.

•For women in their 20s: Work this print into a fun summer cocktail dress. Pair it with solid accessories like a coral patent clutch, white strappy platforms, and simple jewelry for an easy-going summer style.
•For women in their 30s and 40s: Try a more modest style for the office by using the print in a knee-length pencil skirt. Pair it with a solid white blouse, an electric blue bib necklace, and a neutral colored blazer for a fun office style.
•For stylish seniors: Wear this print on the bottom half with a cropped pant. Pair them with a soft colored solid top, a simple white handbag, and some neutral colored flats for lunch with the ladies.
Another trend to be shared: Collared Shirts.
I’ll be the first to admit to my resistance on this one. I always felt out of place in this style, too old, too white collar, too formal, but not anymore. There are so many fun ways to wear a collar; you don’t even have to wear a collared shirt to have a collar.

•For women in their 20s: Work the collar as a statement necklace with a strapless dress for a formal event or wear a sleeveless collared shirt to the beach, unbuttoned at the top and tied above the naval paired with cuffed denim shorts.
•For women in their 30s and 40s: For a trendy office look, pair a sleeveless collared shirt with a high wasted skirt or pant and a bib necklace. For a more casual affair, layer it with a lacey camisole underneath and pair it with a simple white cropped pant.
•For stylish seniors: For a summer BBQ or pool party, pair the sleeveless collared shirt with a light cardigan and a denim bottom of your choice, a skirt, shorts, or pants. Dress it up with a printed skirt and some low pumps.
One last versatile trend: Elegant Neutrals.
This is one of my favorite trends for the upcoming season! Neutrals aren’t boring anymore. Every woman should have some camel colored garments and a pair of promising nude pumps. It is such an easy color to accentuate with any trending hue such as hot coral, mint, royal blue, or emerald green.

•For women in their 20s: Invest in a camel colored mini dress and pair it with pops of color in your accessories for a killer combo. Use a geometric color blocked oversized handbag and chunky jewelry for an easy day-to-night outfit.
•For women in their 30s and 40s: For a sleek office look, grab a nude, two-pieced suit and pair it with an emerald green blouse and royal blue pumps. Add in some bold bangles for detail and you’re destined to be elected best-dressed.
•For stylish seniors: Brighten up a pair of khaki trousers with a pop of hot coral on the top. Wear some simple jewelry and a solid colored sandal for a casual day look.
So, are we convinced that trends can be transformed into fashion for all ages? Try out some interpretations of these outfits and let us know what you think! Have a darling day all you trend setters!
