Why I’m Shutting Down My Coaching Business (And What’s Next)
We don’t talk enough about what happens when the business you built—maybe even loved—stops fitting who you are. In this episode of Big Goal Energy, I takes us behind the scenes of a massive pivot: I’m closing down my coaching business after nearly 10 years.
Not because it wasn’t working. But because it no longer aligned.
This episode is raw, honest, and revolutionary for any woman who’s realized that “just making it work” is no longer the goal.
A Decade of Hustling—and a Whisper
The decision to shut it all down didn’t happen overnight. For years, I’ve heard whispers. Felt rumblings. But like many high-achievers, I pushed through. Focused harder. Tried more strategies.
Even in my most financially successful year, the coaching business still didn’t feel like it.
I needed to do something radical, so I paused. Got still. And listened.
What the Sacred Pause Revealed
After everything stopped working in 2025, I was forced to surrender. In that silence, I finally heard the truth:
“I don’t actually want to scale this business.”
The sensation of realizing the business I was trying to grow felt dense, immovable—and ultimately, like a burden.
My clarity didn’t come from force. It came from stillness.
The Numbers Didn’t Lie—But They Weren’t the Truth
I ran the math. Took meetings with scaling experts. But every version of “more” required a version of myself that I no longer wanted to be.
75 hours of coaching a month? Multiple masterminds? Constant output?
The cost wasn’t worth the revenue. That’s when I realized, “This business model does not work for me.”
The Grief and the Goodbye
I’m radically transparent about the grief of walking away—from clients, community, income, identity.
I even held a funeral for my business on the Scorpio new moon in November.
Because this ending is not just a pivot. It is a death. And I have honored it as such.
What Comes Next
What’s emerging is a bigger vision that’s been inside of me for years. One that’s aligned with impact, wealth, joy, and a whole new definition of success.
I’m wrapping things up intentionally—legally dissolving my business, closing state accounts, saying goodbye with reverence.
And I’m building again. But this time, from a deeper truth and alignment. Because I’m not the same woman who initially built the coaching business in 2015.
Questions to Ask Yourself
I used the following journaling prompts as I was letting go. Use these if you are on the verge of closure or needing clarity about your next steps:
What is ending?
What funeral is asking you to sit vigil?
What is being born in the darkness?
How are you truly feeling about saying goodbye?
What have you learned about yourself?
These aren’t just business questions. They’re legacy questions.
Final Thoughts
This closure is not me giving up…. it’s me leveling up—in a way most of the world doesn’t yet recognize because what’s coming next is still inside of me.
This episode is a masterclass in listening to your inner knowing, choosing truth over comfort, and making space for what’s next.
If you’ve ever felt like the thing you built isn’t the thing you’re meant to keep building—this is your permission slip.
