You Deserve Love On Valentine's Day
Oh….. Valentines Day.
A day that’s meant for the celebration of love, is one that has become such a deep source of resentment, loathing and anger.
All because of unmet expectations.
Maybe you have someone to share it with, but you feel as if they’re not doing “enough” in celebration, or they’re not reading your mind to know what you want, or there are extenuating circumstances getting in the way of the day being “perfect.”
Maybe you don’t have a love interest to share it with so you feel lonely, disappointed and in total fail mode.
Personally, I’m over it all. Over it.
I’m reclaiming Valentine’s Day. Because screw all the expectations and disappointments. This is supposed to be a day of love - and what I’ve learned lately is the best person to love on Valentine’s Day is yourself.
You may have heard me say this before: there is only one permanent, constant in your life. From the day you’re born to the day you die there is only one thing that remains consistent.
Know what it is?
So, why not celebrate you on Valentine’s Day? Why not fall in love a little more with the person who is the most present, the most attentive and the most consistent in your life?
No one can love you like you do. No one can get you the exact perfect thing, or say the exact perfect thing, or have the exact perfect experience like you can.
The physical world will always come and go. But you will always be there for you.
Enjoy it. Relish in it. Celebrate it. And love it. Love you. You deserve it.
Love + Leaps,
